About the DancEUA project

Contemporary Resilience: Dance Recreation in Ukraine (dancEUA) is a European cultural cooperation project aimed at strengthening the Ukrainian contemporary dance sector and encouraging long-term professional cooperation between Ukrainian and European artists.

The project responds to the challenges faced by Ukrainian dance artists, providing a platform for artistic exchange, professional development and cultural resilience through cross-border partnerships.

The project is led by Studio Contemporary Dance Company (Croatia), in collaboration with Central Europe Dance Theater (Hungary), M Studio (Romania), Vitlycke Performing Arts Centre (Sweden) and UA Contemporary Dance Platform (Ukraine). dancEUA brings together major cultural organisations committed to the development of contemporary dance.

The project is structured around a range of activities, including artist residencies, professional training, international presentations, networking initiatives and political engagement, all of which support dance artists and the wider cultural sector.

Through this, the project will provide opportunities for choreographers, dancers and cultural professionals to collaborate, create new artistic works and engage with local and international audiences. Through digital tools, knowledge-sharing platforms and public events, dancEUA ensures that the results reach as many people as possible. This will increase the visibility of Ukrainian contemporary dance and its long-term sustainable development on the European art scene.
