A8ak

The IKF is a new talent development and research programme with the primary aim of improving the opportunities for young choreographers and empowering young choreographers. The Central European Dance Theatre has set out to develop a new strategy to continue working with the youngest artists. The IKF's open competition offers young choreographers the opportunity to create.

This time Gábor Halász will work with the KET dancers for a week, and at the end of the week there will be a public performance and demonstration called A8ak. After graduating from the Budapest Contemporary Dance College, Gábor Halász participated in the D.A.N.C.E. (Dance Apprentice Network aCross Europe) programme and later joined the Ballet National de Marseille.

A8ak reinterprets the mystery of the number eight. Going beyond the field of music theory and number mysticism, Gábor Halász seeks a language that draws on the roots of the piece, approaching it from the perspective of the most significant Hungarian avant-garde artists' group and members of the Central European Dance Theatre.
