Young Choreographers Platform \u2013 YCP 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

Central European Dance Theatre is pleased to announce that this year, once again, it is launching an open call for applications under the name \u201cIKF 2023\u201d \u2013 Young Choreographers Forum. This year, for the 25th time, we are offering a young artist the opportunity to showcase his or her work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2013, the KET set out to develop a new strategy to establish a fresh foundation for working with the youngest artists and to open up new avenues for collaboration with them. The launch of the talent program has confirmed the need for our initiative; so far, 24 young choreographers have been given the opportunity to showcase their work: Bernadett Jobb\u00e1gy, Mil\u00e1n \u00dajv\u00e1ri, Gabriella P\u00e1lfi, Zolt\u00e1n Grecs\u00f3, Dorottya Ujsz\u00e1szi, Kinga Varga, J\u00falia Gyulai, G\u00e1bor Hal\u00e1sz, Judit Szamosi, Anik\u00f3 Kiss, Beatrix Simk\u00f3, Lajos P\u00e9ter T\u00fari, Krist\u00f3f Samu, Krisztina Szarvas, Mik\u00f3 D\u00e1vid, Gyula Cserepes, Eva Urbanova (SK), Anna Miku\u0142a-Pawe\u0142 Urbanowicz (PL), Magda Niedzielska (PL), Csilla Nagy, Rita G\u00f3bi, and, competing outside the competition, two KET dancers, Kriszti\u00e1n Barna and D\u00e1vid Dab\u00f3czi. As you can see from the names, the talent development and research program has reached an international level in 2020.<\/p>\n

Many of the young artists listed have been invited to create original works for the KET. Beatrix Simk\u00f3\u2019s performance was nominated for the Rudolf L\u00e1b\u00e1n Prize in 2017, and Magda Niedzielska\u2019s production was selected for the 10th Theater Olympics in 2023.<\/p>\n

The winner will have the opportunity to work with the KET company and use their rehearsal space for one week, during which they will perform one evening at the Sissi Autumn Dance Festival, where they will work with the dance artists under professional mentorship. At the end of the week, the work will be presented in a public demonstration at the Bethlen T\u00e9ri Theatre, where the theater\u2019s technical staff will be on hand. The finished choreography will be documented in a photo documentary, which will serve as a reference for the young artists in their future competitions. In addition, prior to the one-week rehearsal process, further opportunities will be provided to prepare for the demonstration through training sessions for the dancers. During these sessions, the performers will become familiar with the young choreographers\u2019 unique movement styles, while the choreographers will also get to know the program\u2019s dance artists.<\/p>\n
