We are pleased to announce that the Central Europe Dance Theatre (CEDT) is seeking participants for DCL \u2013 <\/strong>Dance Communication Lab<\/em><\/strong> <\/em>in Budapest<\/em> from Beyond Front@ partner countries: Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Romania, and Sweden.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond Front@: Bridging Periphery is a Creative Europe project (2023\u20132026) created by Central Europe Dance Theatre \u2013 CEDT<\/em> (Hungary), Bunkers<\/em> (Slovenia), Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance \u2013 HIPP<\/em> (Croatia), Krakow Dance Theatre - Krakowski Teatr Ta\u0144ca<\/em> (Poland), M Studio <\/em>(Romania) and Vitlycke - CPA<\/em> (Sweden) to foster local development of the contemporary dance fields. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is a DCL, in general?<\/strong> DCL \u2013 Dance Communication Lab is a short-term exchange program for dancers, with the primary goal of bringing together six professional dancers from the aforementioned partner countries to get to know one another through improvisation, which is the most distinctive creative process in contemporary dance. The two-day research project will take place under the mentorship of S\u00e1ndor Petrovics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

S\u00e1ndor Petrovics<\/strong> was born in 1987 in Budapest, Hungary. In 2012, he earned his diploma as a contemporary dancer at BCDA. Moving to Israel proved to be a turning point in his life. In Tel Aviv, he worked at Vertigo Dance Company, and at the same time, he became a certified practitioner of the Ilan Lev Method. In 2019, he left Israel to join the German Tanzmainz Company, where Sharon Eyal\u2019s work had the greatest influence on him. During this time, he also became more familiar with the Gaga movement system. In 2021, upon returning to Hungary, he began sharing his experiences through teaching and ILM treatments. Recently, he has also been working as a freelance dancer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI believe that reality is layered and consists of patterns that permeate both the visible and the invisible world. Of these patterns, the most fundamental is movement. This is the source, the path, and the purpose of existence. Life itself. The body is our shared heritage, offering us the opportunity to experience, connect, and grow.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DCL CEDT-Budapest will take place 16<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong> -17<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong> November 2024<\/strong> as part of the annual Sissi Autumn Dance Week<\/em> (S\u0150T7) at the Bethlen Square Theater. The demonstration can take any form or take place in any location (e.g., indoors, outdoors, or as a walk); it typically lasts between 15 and 40 minutes and is open to the public. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
