Amoeba 02 - the ever-changing Unity
I am constantly shaping the space around me with my movements, and in the process, the inner spaces within me are also evolving. Change is constant. But how does a group of people invited into a shared space form a community? How does a common movement develop, how does a common space develop? Is it enough to have many people in one space at the same time or is something more needed? Can there be a flow that is collectively called into being by all, where decisions are clear, alive, honest and serve the needs of both the individual and the community? And if there is such a flow, in which only certainty and agreement exist, how can it be reproduced again and again? What is the recipe?
The performance attempts to harmonise communal and individual choices by mapping natural phenomena through the interaction of dancing bodies, all accompanied by live music by Csanád Szesztay.

"As an artist, from the beginning I was interested in abstracting and universalising the personal stories of the individual; and in incorporating the personal experiences of the partners involved into the collective production. In the layers of our personality, like the skin of an onion, there are parts that are more likeable and parts that are harder to accept, but it is the combination of these that makes up our being. The aim is to reconcile these disparate parts, to embrace vulnerability, to accept frailty and to explore how to transcend it. Irony is important to me, and more importantly, humour: taking ourselves only as seriously as is absolutely necessary." - Csilla Nagy
