Artistic Statement

As an artist, I have always been interested in the abstraction and the universal aspects of individuals’ personal stories. As a creator, I am thrilled to incorporate the participating artists’ personal experiences into the production. In the layers of our own character—much like the layers of an onion—we all have sweeter and more bitter parts, but they are all necessary for the construction of our identity. The aim is to reconcile these contradictory elements, to accept human frailty, to embrace vulnerability, and to explore possible ways of overcoming them. In my opinion, the use of theatrical means provides an opportunity to explore these attributes of human nature, and the search for harmony can be openly expressed through the art of dance. Irony is almost as important as humor; we shouldn’t take ourselves too seriously—though we certainly need to take ourselves seriously at times!

Ever since I was 6 years old, dance has been a defining part of my life; the most sophisticated form of self-expression for me is through my body. I believe in the wisdom of the body.

The pandemic brought a major change to my life. Body awareness, movement practice, and regular connection with nature have become part of my daily routine. During isolation, I came to appreciate the importance of touch even more, and its healing power became clear to me.
